Etihad Rail says it has completed stage one of the project and is awaiting approval to begin work on 628km of track linking the UAE with Saudi Arabia and Oman.
The developer and operator of the UAE’s 1,200km long rail network is now looking to obtain regulatory approvals to start full commercial operations on stage one, and begin delivering stage two.
Covering 628km of track, stage two will link the rail network in Abu Dhabi to the Saudi border at Ghweifat and the Omani border at Al Ain. It will connect areas such as Mussaffah, Khalifa Port and Jebel Ali Port in Dubai.
